Graduate Student - UCR Summer Bridge Experience Internship Program Coordinator
UCR is seeking a graduate student to provide support for an Association of Public Land Grant Opportunities (APLU) funded grant project, the UCR Summer Bridge Experience Internship Program. 40-50 Students will participate in an all-virtual paid experience collaborating on an interdisciplinary cohort-model projects on supporting efforts of the Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), or Riverside County Department of Public Social Services. UC Riverside will partner these employers to develop 5-week (July - August 2022) internship programs for 40‐50 students providing: 1) work experience on multiple real‐world projects benefitting the local Riverside community; 2) professional mentors; and 3) embedded career development training. The ideal cohorts will be made up of a multidisciplinary team of representatives of UCR’s various colleges. This is a 8-month position (approximately February 2022 to October 2022).
Essential Job Functions
The Program Coordinator will provide overall program support for the UCR Summer Bridge Internship Experience Internship Program co-led by the UCR Career Center and Undergraduate Education.
The Program Coordinator will work closely with the Project Co-Leads and Project Supervisors.
Job Responsibilities
- Assists with enrolling (20) Apple Coding Design Intern students in an online Apple Swift coding design course and tracking progress through the self-paced course (March 1 - July 22)
- Recruits, interviews, hires additional interns for employer summer projects with the EPA and Department of Public Social Services
- On-boards summer interns for all projects
- Supports and coordinates career development activities, possibly to include instructional technologies
- Assists with record-keeping, reporting, and meeting coordination
- Provides support with pre and post internship surveys: development, distribution, and data analysis
- Develops program marketing materials
- Coordinates projects between employers, faculty, mentors, Career Center staff and summer cohorts
- Hybrid work setting available
Requirements
- Current UCR Graduate Student in good academic standing
- Basic/general understanding of Mac operating systems
- Familiarity with Google Suite
- Experience using Excel, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational, people and time management skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to work with faculty, staff, and students in a diverse environment
- Ability to multitask
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of student payroll and hiring processes
- Experience handling confidential student related information
- Experience using Qualtrics
- Experience with multimedia development
- Familiarity with survey design & development
- Experience with survey data analysis
